Collecting Sanrio items for quite a while, I have always wanted to
properly display my collection, online and at home. With space
constraints at home, I find it difficult to display my collection. I
have discussed with other Sanrio collectors on how they keep and display
the collection and found that some collectors, like myself, keep the
items in huge plastic boxes, away from the sun. It is ironic that on one
hand I want to display and appreciate the collection, while the best
way to keep them is in the dark since the color of the items will fade
so quickly if they are under the sun.
For vintage items, I
started collecting them not too long ago and it is not a huge
collection. It is hard to acquire good quality and good priced vintage
items. Some of them went too expensive to collect so that I simply have
to keep searching and looking.
For trinkets, they are so cute and
adorable. My trinket collection grew quite quickly after I started
buying them from Japanese collectors/sellers. I have wanted to do an
inventory on what trinkets I have and what I don't, but yet to find
time.
My Melody....Little Red Riding Hood.....I always like this
character. When I first started to work in 1997, it happened that
Sanrio produced a new line of My Melody in red hoods and two straight
ears. At that time, I bought every single design that came into sight.
Was a little crazy at the time. Now, I am more selective in collecting
My Melody, and focus on rarer items like UFO plushes, point-prize, lucky
draw and Not for Sale items. Kuromi? Never liked it and not collecting
it. I have always wanted to meet the author of My Melody to get an
autograph. It is important for me, and I hope to be able to do that.
My
collection also include Purin, Button Nose and some Cheery Chums. I
hope you enjoy viewing my collection. I find it very exciting to see
other people's collection, especially when I see rare and extremely cute
items.
