Golden Memories Sticker Set

I have the old one (year 1976) and the new one (year 2010).
Compared them. They are different............in many ways.

The old one is called "SEAL SET".
The new one is larger and is called "STICKER SET".
Stickers inside are different also. The new one also lacking a large sticker.

1976 version is made in Japan, 100yen.
2010 version is made in Japan, 420yen.

Golden Memories Large Melody Doll

So happy today. This big doll finally arrived.

This is the Golden Memories Melody doll, the biggest one in the series.
I have a difficult time tracking one down. Maybe because it is big (expensive), not all stores order it from the supplier. I requested a HK shop to order for me, and it turned out that they receive no stock of this after 1 month. Anyways, I managed to get one somewhere now. So happy to open the box and see her arrive.

At the first sight, she didn't look very cute and cuddly. However, when I hold her and feel the texture, oh, all the memories of older dolls came back. It's magical. I love her.

They use the material similar to plush dolls made years ago. The outside look is not as "perfect" and "smooth" as recent dolls. But that's the exact way plush dolls used to be. It simply feels good to hold her. Nice big size too. Words can't describe how much I like this new dolly.

The actual doll is a lot more orangy (or peach) in color than her official picture.
If you are a Melody fans, I'd say, this doll is a MUST HAVE!!!

THE Christmas toy, 2010

So, this is THE Christmas toy of the year 2010: Lalaloopsy Dolls

They have plastic head and limbs. Changeable clothes.
Personally I don't understand it, or simply, I don't like it.

Just like THE toy last year (ZhuZhu Pets), I just don't get why they are so hot.

My Melody Pez

Enjoying our Thanksgiving long weekend.
Found this My Melody Pez at Scarborough Town Centre. It is a USA item, so I feel very happy to find it here. Otherwise, I would have to get it from Feebay.

My Melody (Build-A-Bear)

To celebrate Sanrio's 50th anniversary, Build-A-Bear Workshop has Sanrio dolls!!
There are Hello Kitty, Hawaiian Hello Kitty, My Melody, Chococat and Keroppi. Ok, these are the popular Sanrio dolls in USA. Their looks, very USA also, a tad different from the Japan version ones.

Last year (2009), they had Hello Kitty 35th anniversary doll, which is very pretty also, but no other Sanrio dolls.

Finally, finally, they have My Melody doll. Of course I am gonna make one!!!
I saw on the tag that they made 81,000 of Melody dolls. Each of them is numbered on the tag.

This is the very first Build-A-Bear doll I made. My mom made a bear one to me many years ago when she found this store in Vegas.
